Brad McCauley Sworn in as ˿Ƶ President

˿Ƶ has installed Brad McCauley, F˿Ƶ, PLA, as its president for the 2025-2026 term. McCauley was sworn in as the 81st president during the President's Lunch at the ˿Ƶ 2025 Conference on Landscape Architecture in New Orleans, LA. He succeeds Kona Gray, F˿Ƶ.

In his remarks, McCauley opened by declaring, “I stand before you humbled and honored to serve as your next president of ˿Ƶ. But this moment isn’t about me — it’s about you, it’s about our members, and the community that has sustained this Society for more than 125 years.”

He went on to say:

"Our mission is simple but powerful: Empower our members to design a sustainable and equitable world through landscape architecture. We do that through advocacy, communication, education, and community. At its heart, ˿Ƶ is about connection. Humans need community, and this is the community for landscape architects. Across chapters, firms, schools, and generations, we are strongest when we share, support, and speak as one voice…. ˿Ƶ isn’t just a remarkable team in Washington or leaders on this stage. It’s all of us. It’s members mentoring students, firms supporting advocacy, chapters building community."

"This isn’t a spectator sport. So yes, you asked for this — and now I’m asking you: keep showing up, keep raising your voice, keep building the profession together."

"At the end of the day, landscape architecture just makes sense. It makes sense for communities, for health, for equity, for business, and for the planet."

"Resiliency is our strength. This is our moment to show it — as practitioners, as a Society, and as a profession.”

As a practitioner, Brad has led the team at for the past decade as the Managing Principal. The recognition of awards throughout the Midwest and on a National level has been a testimony to Brad’s leadership.  More important has been the steady and managed growth of the firm from ten professionals in 2012 to over sixty professionals today, including full-time employees in Tokyo, Brazil, and an entire team based in Kyiv, Ukraine.

Brad’s commitment to inclusive recruiting, hiring, and retention has transformed the culture of the firm to meet today’s market demands and leadership expectations. Under his guidance, the firm’s $2 billion portfolio reflects his commitment to design excellence, improving the quality of life for all. For him, good design is not a luxury; it's a right that should be accessible to everyone.

Brad holds a Bachelor of Landscape Architecture from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign.

Also sworn in were Kene Okigbo, ˿Ƶ, as Vice President of Communications and Bill Odle, ˿Ƶ, as Vice President of Finance. They will each serve three-year terms. Grechen Wilson, ˿Ƶ, was sworn in as President-Elect and will serve as president in 2026-2027.

They join continuing officers: Om Khurjekar, ˿Ƶ; Ashley Steffens, ˿Ƶ; Jean Senechal Biggs, F˿Ƶ; April Westcott, F˿Ƶ; and Kona Gray, F˿Ƶ, who will continue as Immediate Past President.
