Park(ing) Day Celebration at Howard University Middle School of Mathematics and Science

In celebration of Park(ing) Day - Friday, September 15 - National Ë¿¹ÏÊÓÆµ will partner with the Howard University Middle School of Mathematics and Science (HU-MS2) to host a design charrette where students sketch their ideas for a pollinator-themed parklet. Students will build out their final sketches using Minecraft and then construct their designs into parklets located on campus.
HU-MS2, a leading STEM school in Washington, DC, is the only HBCU to host a public charter middle school on campus, demonstrating their commitment to creating a pipeline to STEM careers for adolescents. This collaboration is especially significant in light of .
Jeff Holzer, Ë¿¹ÏÊÓÆµ, from the Potomac Chapter, will lead the week-long activities, which will include a mini course on landscape architecture and a walking tour of the Howard University campus .
Ë¿¹ÏÊÓÆµ encourages all Ë¿¹ÏÊÓÆµ chapters to partner with their local school on Park(ing) Day.
