The Faculty of Education and Humanities at the *Ë¿¹ÏÊÓƵ successfully organized an important capacity-building training session on “Project Design, Monitoring and Evaluation,” aimed at strengthening students’ practical and professional competencies. The training brought together students from the Faculty, with particular focus on those enrolled in Administration and Planning programs, who play a critical role in future development initiatives. The session was professionally facilitated by Mr. Abdirahim Ibrahim Mohamed, a Senior Advisor at the Ministry of Planning, who shared his extensive experience in project management and development planning. During the training, participants were introduced to key concepts and practical tools related to project identification, design frameworks, monitoring mechanisms, and evaluation techniques. The facilitator emphasized the importance of evidence-based planning, accountability, and continuous assessment in ensuring the success and sustainability of development projects. The primary objective of the training was to equip students with essential, real-world skills that are highly relevant to their future careers, particularly in areas related to national development, institutional planning, and public sector management. The session also encouraged critical thinking, teamwork, and problem-solving through interactive discussions and practical examples. Students expressed strong appreciation for the training, noting that it significantly enhanced their understanding of how development projects are planned, implemented, monitored, and evaluated in real institutional settings. The knowledge and insights gained from the session are expected to support their academic growth and prepare them to make meaningful contributions to development initiatives in Somalia. The Faculty of Education and Humanities reaffirmed its commitment to providing students with practical learning opportunities that bridge academic knowledge with real-world application, in line with UNISO’s mission to produce skilled, competent, and development-oriented graduates.
