The seminar focused on enhancing students’ understanding of the structure, size, and expansion of state institutions in Somalia, with particular emphasis on public administration, governance, and institutional effectiveness. Key discussions explored how the growth of government institutions impacts service delivery, public accountability, and administrative efficiency within the Somali context.

During the session, the speaker provided in-depth analysis of the historical and contemporary factors influencing institutional proliferation in Somalia. He also highlighted the challenges associated with overlapping mandates, limited resources, and coordination gaps among public institutions, while offering insights into potential reforms and policy options.

The seminar created an interactive learning environment, allowing students to engage in discussions, ask critical questions, and relate theoretical concepts to real-world governance challenges. Such academic engagements aim to strengthen students’ analytical skills and deepen their understanding of public sector management.

This event reflects UNISO’s continued commitment to academic excellence, critical inquiry, and the professional development of its students. By organizing seminars led by experienced scholars, the university seeks to prepare future public administrators with the knowledge and skills required to contribute effectively to good governance and institutional development in Somalia.
